Scrawl w/ Anxiety Monster

Scrawl: A 6-piece band playing classic rock, funk and 'jam' style music with a splash of southern rock; Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band and CCR. Our members are all in their 20's or 30's and we have been performing in the Takoma Park and Silver Spring area for the last 6 months. Collectively we have over 20 years of experience playing live music. Our setlist holds over 4 hours of music that we guarantee will make any audience get up and dance! 

 Anxiety Monster: Hailing from Montgomery County, MD. Anxiety Monster is a classic four-piece consisting of Spencer Woehrle on drums, Avery Reeves-Williams on bass, and Jacob Vanlonkhuysen on guitar, with Jerad Szadkowski providing lead vocals. Their music features a grunge aesthetic, with rolling drums, brooding bass, and an eerie, piercing guitar; all capped by energetic vocals. With inspiration from the likes of Nirvana, Arctic Monkeys, and more.

Jester Mercutio is an Electronic Gothic Deathrock musician from DC. He sings hauntingly hypnotic songs filled with classic synths and keyboards. Jester will take you into a world of dreams, nightmares, and nostalgia.

Established in 1997, Dharmata 101 is the primary output of JSun Lhundub Dorti Bruner. Musically, D101 is concept-driven synthpop that generally is awash in deep programming, dance friendly beats, the occasional guitar, and Buddhist philosophy. D101 has released 3 albums, 7 EPs, and had quite a few compilation appearances- to include 3 volumes of Distortion Productions/Metropolis Records’ Electronic Saviors series.

It’s our annual Halloween party, and we hope you’ll join us. Featuring an Exorcist Tour! Did you know that the Exorcist movie was based on real events which happened in our neighborhood? You can learn a lot more and see some of the sites that played a part in the original, true story.

As in past years, the bar will have spooky projections installed by our Innovator in Residence, Aaron DeNu plus lots of decorations, and scary snacks.
