Rosier - presented by The Hamlin St. Diner

Montréal-based band ROSIER – formerly known as LES POULES À COLIN – pushes further the exploration of alloys between Québec folk and the mix of indie, jazz, pop, bluegrass and contemporary styles. The group’s five members immerse us in their universe through original compositions, sophisticated arrangements, harmonic progressions and reinvented traditions. The bilingual band injects exuberant color into folk traditions, taking its roots and spinning this foundation into a movement. The result is a mature, well-controlled music filled with emotion and a surprising freshness that is relevant in today’s shifting climates. The band has created a layered sound that connects generations through origin and craft, reclaiming and interpreting the romantic traditions of Québécois folk through a modern lens.

The Catholic Beer Club presents - Fellowship in the City

SPECIAL EVENT

Our “Winter Hours” schedule doesn’t mean we’re not doing some special events. We are very pleased to welcome The Catholic Beer Club back. So we’ll be open Sunday, October 13 from 3:00 - 7:00

We are thrilled that The Catholic Beer Club has decided to return for it's October Fellowship in the City event. This is one of the most warm and welcoming groups I've encountered. So rest assured that everyone (of all faiths) is welcome. Drop by for stimulating conversation, an opportunity to meet your neighbors, and a cold beer (or other beverage of your choice).

Many thanks to James G and Brother Ignacio for making this happen!

Hard Cider Limited Release: "Forty Minutes on Franklin"

You asked for it. And now you can get it. Hard Cider! Another fermented beverage at The Public Option. Don’t miss this release, ‘cause supplies are limited.

The creators of this elixir describe it as “Locally sourced and created by two DC Public school teachers in collaboration with The Public Option.” They’re giving us more credit than we deserve. But hey, we’ll take it.

The evening’s festivities will be complimented by Chef AJ’s locally-made Veenies. For a full description of Veenies, check out the chef’s website.

Dhabalicious - Smoking Country Indian Food

We are fortunate to have Chef Bharat bringing his unique cuisine to the P.O.  Here how he describes it:

The main style of my food is "Indian BBQ"- a fusion of tex/mex and indian flavors.  The meats are marinated , rubbed and slow smoked for 9 hours with White Oak !  All of the food has my custom spice blends and I mainly use coconut oil to cook with.

My influences are Virginia and NC style BBQ along with British Indian Restaurants ( BIR )- So the Smoking Country Indian is the result !!

Emergent Disorder book party

Emergent Disorder is the second book in Ralph Meima's trilogy exploring a future world struggling under the effects of a changed climate.  Like the first book (Fossil Nation), Emergent Disorder wraps a provocative set of questions about where we are headed in a rollicking narrative of adventure and intrigue that is hard to put down.

We'll have a chance to talk with the author, and among ourselves, about the book and the path forward.  And, by the way, it's inauguration day.
