Chef Johnny Seikaly will bring authentic Beirut street food style pita wraps and mezze plates and dips. See you there.
Chef Myles, of 8 Myles, has created a line up of locally produced sauces that go well with everything. This evening you get the chance to try them out with wings. (I can't think of anything that goes better with a local brew on the first of July!)
Chef Karen will be serving up "curbside cooking" this Friday with a selection of dumplings and other Asian delights. Plenty of veggie options available - don't miss it.
Chef Roberto will be bringing west coast Mexican food to your door step in Washington. Don't miss the opportunity to pair a local beer with unique Mexican cuisine on the patio. More details to come...
Chef Karen, will return with her selection of dumplings, fried noodles and rice, and salads. If you missed Karen's "curbside cooking" when she was here before, don't miss this opportunity.
The second Sunday of the month is fast approaching. And that means Vinyl Night. Our faithful MC, Joey Abrams (the Vinyl Knight himself) has announced that the theme will be "sound tracks."
As always, bring your selections on vinyl (lp's, 45's - Joey even plays 78's) and Joey will spin them. And be as creative as you like with the theme.
Chef Karen Hoefener learned her craft in China. She is preparing some special dumplings with a Public Option beer reduction. Drop by and try these unique culinary creations.
Emergent Disorder is the second book in Ralph Meima's trilogy exploring a future world struggling under the effects of a changed climate. Like the first book (Fossil Nation), Emergent Disorder wraps a provocative set of questions about where we are headed in a rollicking narrative of adventure and intrigue that is hard to put down.
We'll have a chance to talk with the author, and among ourselves, about the book and the path forward. And, by the way, it's inauguration day.
Have you got some vinyl records? Pick out a few tracks you'd like to share and let us know why you chose them. Joey Abrams is our MC for the night and has suggested we look back to some of the greats who we lost in 2016 - David Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen.....
The Public Option is going back to it's roots - in the kitchen. If you stopped by last fall, you may remember our much-beloved flat bread menu. Well, Chef Cathy is back this weekend with BBQ Chicken, Greek Feta, and more.
Bring a few records and let us know why you want to put on a particular track. Is it the most unique cover version of a song ever? The coolest blend of styles you've ever heard? Or just a great tune?
Enjoy our beers and get to know your neighbors at this monthly happy hour, at The Public Option in October.
Visit our neighbors on Rhode Island Avenue- vendors and performances will be happening throughout the day.
